The daily shameless plug: Another Mason faculty member shares Nobel Prize

One of the best parts of my job is working with students and faculty that I really believe will change the world for the better.  Jagadish Shukla is a great example – he chairs our climate dynamics program, the group that studies global climate change at Mason as part of our computational sciences program.  He is one of the leaders of the organization that was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize along with Al Gore!  Details at http://gazette.gmu.edu/articles/10981/

That computational sciences program not only works on climate change, but also biodefense; hurricane, earthquake, and Tsunami prediction; and geographic information systems, just to name a few.  Not only are we one of the world leaders in the field, but also one of the only places you can study the subject at the undergraduate level!!!

Whew – I’m exhausted from all this self back patting!  Be seeing you –
