Just how impersonal are admission decisions?

As if the process wasn’t frustrating enough, the Boston Globe reports that a recent study found that the weather has a significant impact on admission decisions. In other words, the decisions of admissions officers tend to track to some extent with the weather while they are making their decisions. Of course, admissions officers have long known that student decisions on where to attend are heavily influenced by weather during campus visits, so maybe this just evens things out? No? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
Personally, I don’t think the weather influences my decisions – but that may just be optimism caused by my good mood today, since it’s SO nice outside. Be seeing you.
